Freshgro has been awarded the UK Grower of the Year at the FPC Fresh Awards 2023, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 29th September.

The annual event, which was this year hosted by Celebrity Food Writer Jay Rayner, recognised and honoured achievements in the fresh produce, cut flower and plants sectors.
The UK Grower of the Year Award was sponsored by Red Tractor, a leading food assurance scheme in the UK, dedicated to ensuring the quality and safety of food and drink products and promoting innovation and sustainability in agriculture. The UK Grower of the Year Award acknowledges innovation and sustainability in agriculture. It highlights the contributions of growers to efficient and sustainable food production.
Freshgro was honoured for introducing the first large-scale, carbon-neutral crop in the UK, the British carbon-neutral Chantenay carrots. The company has managed all aspects of production, from seed to packing, achieving carbon-neutral certification.
The awarding judges commended Freshgro for its environmental action plan and its efforts to reduce carbon emissions in its carrot-growing operations.
The company's recognition at the FPC Fresh Awards 2023 underscores Freshgro's commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and innovation.
