HelloFresh Expands UK Footprint with Major Nuneaton Logistics Hub

HelloFresh, the global leader in fresh food home delivery, has secured a lease for a substantial 230,384 sq ft of prime logistics space at Goodman’s Nuneaton 230 development.

Headquartered in Berlin, HelloFresh specialises in meal kits that empower consumers to prepare homemade, nutritious meals without the hassle of shopping or extensive preparation.

The newly leased Nuneaton site will serve as HelloFresh’s second production facility in the UK, bolstering its successful operations in the region. Despite robust market performance before COVID-19, the pandemic's surge in home food deliveries has further propelled demand for fresh meal kits, necessitating this expansion.

The Nuneaton facility will receive produce and packaging from both local and national suppliers, assemble the fresh ingredients into meal kits, and distribute them to consumers nationwide. The site boasts excellent connectivity, placing 55.9 million consumers within a four-hour drive, making it a strategic location for national fulfilment and fresh food delivery.

In 2019, HelloFresh delivered over 280 million meals, reaching more than four million customers in the final quarter. It remains a dominant force in the global meal kit market, operating across thirteen countries on three continents.

Joining an array of esteemed retailers, manufacturers, and logistics providers at this established industrial hub, HelloFresh is in good company alongside XPO, Unipart, Renault Trucks, and Bestway.

Nigel Dolan, Development Director at Goodman, stated: “We are proud to welcome HelloFresh to our Nuneaton 230 development. As a pioneer in the healthy home cooking and subscription service sectors, we are pleased to support the expansion of its UK production and fulfilment network.”

The Nuneaton facility offers comprehensive storage solutions, including frozen, chilled, and ambient capacities, along with adaptable warehouse space tailored to HelloFresh’s production and packing needs.

Nigel Dolan added: “With the development now complete, we look forward to seeing HelloFresh benefit from the property’s top-tier specifications, excellent transport links, and local employment opportunities. The site boasts a substantial labour pool, with three million people residing within 20 miles of Nuneaton town centre. Bermuda Park railway station directly serves the site, providing a convenient commute for employees.”

Councillor Julie Jackson, Leader of Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are delighted to see Goodman welcome HelloFresh to this premier logistics development at Bermuda Park. This aligns with our Transforming Nuneaton initiative with Warwickshire County Council, aimed at driving economic growth, attracting investment, and creating new business opportunities for the area. We look forward to seeing HelloFresh thrive in Bermuda Park’s prime location and rich employment landscape.”
