HelloFresh Launches Major UK Hub in Derby, Boosting Jobs and Local Economy

HelloFresh, the leader in the global meal-kit sector, has announced the inauguration of its largest European distribution centre.

The new facility, located in Derby, represents a significant step forward for the company, both in terms of capacity and technological advancement.

This state-of-the-art centre spans an impressive 23,000 square metres, substantially augmenting HelloFresh's distribution capabilities in the UK.

The site is expected to generate upwards of 1,200 new jobs in the region, bolstering the local economy and providing a variety of roles in operations and logistics.

In a statement marking the opening, Laurent Guillemain, UK CEO of HelloFresh, expressed his enthusiasm: "Today is a landmark day for HelloFresh in the UK. The Derby centre is equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to optimise package handling and minimise food waste, crucial steps towards HelloFresh's ambitious sustainability targets. Furthermore, the facility will play a central role in the company’s operations throughout the UK, integrating advanced systems that ensure the freshness and quality of products.

Local officials have welcomed HelloFresh's investment in the area. Councillor Chris Poulter, the leader of Derby City Council, remarked on the positive impact the new centre is expected to have: "We are delighted to welcome HelloFresh to Derby.

"This significant investment not only creates valuable jobs for our community but also boosts our local economy. It’s a testament to our ongoing efforts to attract leading companies and innovative businesses to the city."
