Total Produce announced as Fresh Awards Fresh Produce Business of the Year

To be the best in the fresh produce industry you need to be evolving constantly to meet the needs of customers and, in this respect, Total Produce has certainly excelled.

In recognition of this, the company has been awarded the FPC Fresh Awards Fresh Produce Business of the Year for 2021.

The prestigious annual event, known widely as the ‘Oscars of the Fresh Produce Industry,’ was held at Old Billingsgate in London on Friday 19 November 2021 with hundreds attending and hosted by comedian Patrick Kielty.

The winner of the award, Total Produce, can trace its roots back to the 1850s, and today it is part of Dole Plc, the world's leading premier fresh produce provider.

The combined success of these two companies is based on an “absolute focus on the customer and on product quality, as well as continual improvement of social and environmental practices.”

“Tight control of the supply chain and close association with like-minded growers is key,” said a Total Produce representative.

With over 300 lines from over 80 countries, Total Produced has dedicated logistics help to maintain freshness along the supply chain and direct to global customers. Having around 160 distribution hubs, it is a global company which maintains its local focus and expertise.

The FPC Fresh Awards judges noted that their decision was made based upon Total Produce’s continual evolution and their commitment to customer excellence. They stated: “This is truly a stellar business, with great people and brands."

The FPC Fresh Awards is created and developed by the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) the trade association for the UK fresh produce, flower and plant industry, to celebrate the heroes of the fresh produce industry.

Owned wholly by its members, FPC is recognised as the ‘voice’ of the industry.
