Aldi, Asda, Tesco Express and Ocado were celebrated for their produce, floral, convenience and online retailing respectively.

The Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) – the UK’s fresh produce trade association – is pleased to announce the four winners within its Retailer of the Year awards category which were presented at the FPC Fresh Awards 2022 last Friday (16 September) at The JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
Aldi – Multiple Fruit & Vegetable Retailer of the Year
Asda – Multiple Floral Retailer of the Year
Tesco Express – Convenience Retailer of the Year
Ocado – Online Retailer of the Year
Aldi won Multiple Fruit & Vegetable Retailer of the Year on account of the freshness, shelf-life, quality and low-cost of its fresh produce range.
Asda won Multiple Floral Retailer of the Year thanks to its variety of value-for-money, quality flowers which are beautifully arranged.
Tesco Express won Convenience Retailer of the Year in recognition of its broad range of well-priced products, conveniently-located stores, and extended opening hours.
Ocado won Online Retailer of the Year on the back of its variety, quality and choice of top quality, ethically-sourced products.
Nigel Jenney, CEO of FPC, explains: “Every year, the FPC asks UK consumers to vote for their favourite retailers across four different categories. The UK's shoppers are notoriously discerning and it is wonderful to see that our nation’s retailers from the discounters right the way through to the premium retailers are doing an excellent job of delivering a solid selection of top-quality produce and flowers at great prices.”
The FPC Fresh Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of fresh produce and floral businesses as well as those individuals involved in trading with the UK market; from the best growers and suppliers to the finest service providers, exceptional marketers and distinguished personnel from across the globe.
This year’s edition took place at The JW Marriott Grosvenor House, an historic 5-star hotel on Park Lane in London on 16 September 2022. Around 600 guests attended the unmissable date in the produce industry’s calendar.
