Veg Power Initiative Combats Low Vegetable Intake With E-Learning

Veg Power, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing vegetable consumption in the UK, has launched a free e-learning platform called "Simply Veg Learning".

The platform aims to address the significant public health risks associated with low vegetable intake, a factor linked to four out of five leading causes of death and disability in the UK.

The program utilises video-based learning, reward systems, and behavioral 'nudges' to educate users. Veg Power's first course, "Launch Into Veg", targets families struggling with children who have an aversion to vegetables.

Expert guidance comes from nutritionists Zoe Griffiths, Jenny Rosborough, Dr. Laura Wyness, and Dr. Glenys Jones, as well as sensory food expert Kim Smith and child psychologist Dr. Clare Holley.

"Launch Into Veg" offers short online videos and simple strategies to reduce conflict over food.

Participants can access content at their own pace, complete short quizzes, and engage with weekly challenges.

The ultimate goal of the course is to help all children develop a positive relationship with vegetables and happily incorporate at least one serving into their diet.
