Tesco has secured the highest UK fresh produce industry accolade as 2019 Fresh Awards Fresh Produce Business of the Year, sponsored by Polymer Logistics.
Tesco focuses on delivering an affordable, seasonal, inspirational range. It has developed closer relationships with partners through a joint sustainable strategy that allows it to be more agile and responsive to the season, the market and changing customers’ needs.
“This is a re-energised business with fresh produce at its heart,” commented Nigel Jenney, Chief Executive of the Fresh Produce Consortium.
Tesco has led the way on reducing food waste through the supply chain and been the first to market with healthy initiatives that encourage children to eat more fruit and vegetables.
The Fresh Produce Business of the Year award is given by the Fresh Awards judges to the very best performing business among all the winners in the 2019 Fresh Awards categories of supply chain, retail and business excellence.
The Fresh Award for the Fresh Produce Business of the Year was presented by Polymer Logistics at the gala evening, hosted by Graeme Swann, former English international cricketer at The Pavilion, The Tower of London on Thursday 6 June 2019.
