2019 Fresh Awards – Worthy winners in Retail Excellence

Every year, from January to April, FPC carries out a poll among consumers to ask them to vote for their favourite retailer for the following Fresh Awards in retail excellence. Congratulations to these worthy winners in 2019:

Tesco is the winner of the Fresh Awards 2019 Online Retailer of the Year, sponsored by CHEP.

Consumers were asked: ‘Which is the best online retailer in the UK for fruit and veg or cut flowers?’

Voters commented: “Fast delivery”; “Even reduced produce is fresh”; “Best deliver service”.

Co-op is the winner of the Fresh Awards 2019 Convenience Retailer of the Year sponsored by CHEP.

Consumers were asked: ‘Which is the best convenience retailer (your local/high street shop) in the UK for fruit and veg?’

Voters commented: “Opening times on Bank Holidays and weekends”; “Price value, quality and range”; “Fresh fresh fresh!”.

Aldi is the winner of the Fresh Awards 2019 Multiple Floral Retailer of the Year sponsored by Zyon UK.

Consumers were asked: “Which is the best major retailer in the UK for cut flowers and plants?”

Voters commented: “Well grown and potted”; “Bulb selection is good and the results in the garden are my proof of that!”; “They last longer than any other”.
