The service will be trialled from 6 October at eight Aldi stores in Ashford, Dover, Norwich, Ipswich, Letchworth Garden City, Margate, Strood and Tamworth.

A nationwide launch is planned for early 2027.

Customers will be able to browse around 2,000 Aldi products on the Deliveroo app, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, dairy, bread, household essentials and Specialbuys.

They can order on demand or choose a delivery window.

Deliveroo riders will pick, pack and deliver orders from Aldi stores.

Aldi says the arrangement will allow its store colleagues to focus on customers shopping in person.

The model follows Aldi’s partnerships with DoorDash, Deliveroo’s parent company, in the United States and Australia.

Aldi says its products on the app will be priced lower than those of any other supermarket offering rapid delivery.

Giles Hurley, chief executive of Aldi UK, said the partnership would give more people access to Aldi products “however they choose to shop with us”.
