Aldi is celebrating the start of Wimbledon by giving away thousands of free strawberries to shoppers visiting its Wimbledon store.

The supermarket said the giveaway will run from Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July, as tennis fans across the country prepare for one of the biggest events in the British summer sporting calendar.
Alongside the in-store giveaway, Aldi is also offering its Nature’s Pick British Strawberries at 99p for a 227g punnet for a limited time, as part of a wider push to help shoppers enjoy the traditional Wimbledon favourite for less.
The retailer said strawberries remain a firm seasonal staple, whether served with cream, added to desserts, or used in newer recipe trends such as roasted strawberry salads.
Aldi sold almost 1,700 tonnes of strawberries during Wimbledon last year, equivalent to around 4.5 million punnets. This year, the supermarket says it expects to sell more than five million punnets over the tournament period, based on its own sales data.
The promotion comes as British strawberries continue to enjoy peak popularity during the summer months, with Wimbledon long associated with the fruit as part of its traditional food offer.
In addition to the 99p Nature’s Pick British Strawberries, Aldi’s current strawberry range includes Everyday Essentials Wonky Strawberries at £1.19 for 227g, Nature’s Pick British Strawberries at £1.99 for 400g, Nature’s Pick British Strawberries at £2.79 for 600g, and Specially Selected British Grown Strawberries at £2.85 for 400g.
Aldi said its strawberry range is available in stores nationwide now.
