Co-op has launched a new weekly promotion offering shoppers 50 per cent off selected fresh fruit and vegetables every Monday.

The “Fresh Mondays” initiative places fresh produce firmly at the centre of the convenience retailer’s value strategy, with discounts covering berries, apples, grapes, tomatoes, potatoes, asparagus and peppers.
Among the opening offers are 150g packs of Co-op Hand Picked Blackberries for £1.63, reduced from £3.25, and 300g packs of strawberries for £1.48, down from £2.95.
Four-packs of Pink Lady apples have been cut from £2.85 to £1.43, while 450g packs of Co-op Seedless Mixed Grapes are available for £1.40 instead of £2.80.
The introduction of a regular produce-focused savings day gives customers a predictable weekly opportunity to buy fresh food at lower prices, while potentially supporting greater volumes across the participating lines.
Fresh Mondays was launched alongside a separate 24-hour promotion through Uber Eats on 17 August, during which Co-op reduced three household staples to a combined price of 75p before delivery and other applicable charges. An 800g White Toastie Loaf was priced at 15p, with six British medium free-range eggs and four pints of semi-skimmed milk costing 30p each.
Kate McCrae, Co-op retail director, said of the one-day Uber Eats offer: “For 24 hours only, we’re making it even easier for shoppers to pick up everyday essentials at an incredibly low price, with the added convenience of having them delivered straight to their door through Uber Eats.
“We’re experts in rapid delivery here at Co-op and we’re proud to combine this expertise with the very best own-brand products and great-value offers, to keep customers stocked-up round the clock, whatever their needs.”
The Fresh Mondays promotion reflects the growing use of targeted, recurring discounts by retailers seeking to demonstrate value in fresh and healthy food categories.
