FairFruit Cuts Shipment Admin With Digital Tracking Platform

FairFruit Belgium says a centralised logistics platform is helping it spend less time chasing shipment updates and give customers clearer information about their deliveries.

The business began working with logistics provider Shypple in 2025, bringing shipment tracking, documentation and delivery coordination into one place. According to a report by FreshPlaza, the change has reduced the telephone calls and emails previously needed to establish where containers were and when they would arrive.

FairFruit grows, packs and exports fresh vegetables from Peru, Guatemala and Ethiopia, alongside fresh organic mangoes from Burkina Faso. In a case study published by Shypple, sales and operations manager David Van de Gehuchte describes supporting farmers’ prosperity as central to the company’s purpose.

For its Belgian logistics team, coordinating that supply involves planning loadings at origin, preparing arrival documentation and managing deliveries through to the final customer. Having reliable shipment information available is therefore an important part of keeping customers informed.

Grace, FairFruit Belgium’s supply chain and logistics officer, previously checked individual shipping line websites to follow containers, sometimes tracking up to ten during peak season.

She estimates that using the platform saves her up to ten emails a day. Shipping documents, collection references and delivery schedules are now accessible centrally, reducing the exchanges needed to organise deliveries.

The FreshPlaza report also describes a container being held at port for a customs scan. Communication with Shypple helped secure delivery before the weekend, avoiding detention charges.

According to Shypple’s case study, access to information has also helped the commercial team respond to customers’ questions about delivery timings and possible delays without initiating another round of calls.

FairFruit uses Shypple’s in-house customs team for guidance on shipments entering the UK and EU. Customers receive shipment information earlier to support their planning, while the company’s sustainability team uses the platform to maintain a record of CO2 emissions.

For Grace, the principal benefit is greater clarity: knowing where shipment information is held, when it will be available and where to obtain support when needed.
