Kevin The Carrot Returns As Aldi Launches Christmas Missing-Pet Mystery

Aldi has unveiled a first glimpse of its Christmas advertising campaign, with Kevin the Carrot and his daughter Chantenay searching for their missing family pet, Cauli Dog.

The supermarket’s 10-second teaser, shared across its social media channels, opens with Chantenay wishing for the cauliflower companion’s safe return. Father and daughter then put up ‘LOST’ posters, before the clip ends without revealing his whereabouts.

The storyline follows Cauli Dog’s role in last year’s festive campaign, when he carried the diamond ring for Kevin’s proposal to Katie. This Christmas, the family’s focus has shifted from romance to a rescue mission.

Adding to the intrigue, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner Danny Beard has been spotted in Barking wearing a dramatic cauliflower coat.

The outfit, accompanied by black gloves, towering heels, sunglasses and a black-and-white wig, evoked Cruella de Vil and prompted social media speculation about a possible connection to Cauli Dog’s disappearance.

Responding to a post on X questioning the coincidence, Aldi wrote: “We’ve got our top dogs on the case, @thedannybeard.”

However, the retailer has not confirmed whether Beard’s appearance forms part of its Christmas campaign.

Julie Ashfield, chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, said: “Cauli Dog stole the nation’s hearts last Christmas, so we know people will be desperate to find out where he’s got to.”

She added that Kevin and Chantenay were determined to bring their pet home for Christmas, while further details of their adventure remained under wraps.

The teaser puts Aldi’s vegetable characters back at the centre of its festive storytelling, leaving viewers waiting for the full advert to discover whether Cauli Dog makes it home.
