The new technology-led strategic partnership with Tecsa will see Morrisons deploy a category management platform that will create a “powerful foundation” for greater customer-focused retailing.

Under the deal, Tecsa will deploy MoreViu, a customer-centric category management platform to power smarter decisions across: ranging, merchandising, pricing and promotional decisions.
The partnership will combine Morrisons’ existing data assets, including operational, point-of-sale and More card data, with Tecsa’s cutting-edge decision science and AI.
The companies believe the insights generated will better enable Morrisons to stock the right ranges, in the right locations at the right time and at the right price to provide customers with great value whilst meeting all the needs of their grocery shop.
Morrisons’ suppliers will also be able to access the same precision customer insights enabling them to bring new and value-added products to market in support of Morrisons ambitious growth plans.
Furthermore, the platform is designed to enable the scaling of Morrisons capability to provide bespoke and more relevant promotions to customers, thereby helping customers access great value where and when they most need it.

In addition to the technology partnership, Tecsa will also provide expertise to support the development and growth of the More loyalty programme.
Customer-focused decision making has always been a priority for Morrisons, according to Matt McLellan, Morrisons’ new Group Customer, Data & Media Director.
“Through our collaboration with Tecsa we're now poised to elevate this even further, empowered by best-in-class technology which we will co-develop over the coming years,” McLellan said.
Tecsa said the partnership with Morrisons underscores its mission to empower retailers with advanced analytics and AI by helping businesses to unlock new value from their data and build stronger, more rewarding customer connections.
Tecsa founder Tony Buffin said the company is proud to bring its data and technology capabilities to “help the dedicated teams across the business give customers even more reasons to shop at Morrisons”.
