Hannah Gibson, Chief Executive Officer of Ocado Retail, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours list for her services to retail.

Gibson, who took the helm at Ocado Retail in September 2022, was recognised for her leadership in one of the UK’s most innovative online grocery businesses.

Since her appointment, she has overseen key strategic developments during a pivotal period for the retailer, which is jointly owned by Ocado Group and Marks & Spencer.

Commenting on her award, Gibson said: “I am incredibly proud to accept this recognition on behalf of our team, whose hard work and innovation continue to push Ocado forward.”

Her honour comes at a time when the grocery sector is being increasingly recognised for its contribution to the UK economy, particularly in areas such as digital transformation, supply chain resilience and customer experience.

Under Gibson’s leadership, Ocado Retail has continued to expand its reach and capabilities, navigating both shifting consumer behaviours and a highly competitive market landscape.

Her recognition marks a milestone not only for the company but also for the broader role of e-commerce in shaping the future of grocery retail.
