Sainsbury’s Gives Families A Fresh Boost With £18 Fruit And Veg Top-Up
Sainsbury’s is reintroducing its Healthy Start top-up, offering eligible families up to £18 towards fruit, vegetables, beans and pulses before Christmas.

The initiative will provide an additional £3 a week for six weeks to eligible Healthy Start customers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Weekly electronic gift cards will be emailed from 18 November and can be spent in store or online on fresh, frozen, tinned and dried products.
Registration closes at 11.59pm on 9 November 2026.
To qualify, customers must have shopped at Sainsbury’s within the previous 12 months using their Healthy Start Mastercard and Nectar card in the same transaction. Each gift card must be used within seven days of receipt.
The supermarket previously trialled a Healthy Start top-up in 2021. Analysis by Leeds Institute for Data Analytics, working with IGD, found customers redeeming a top-up coupon bought an average of 13 more portions of fruit and vegetables per basket than those who did not.
Sainsbury’s said it hopes the move will encourage wider retail support for families using the scheme.
