Independent wholesaler Adams Foodservice has become the latest business to join Sterling Supergroup, strengthening the cooperative buying group’s membership in the South East and marking its seventh new member of 2026.

Based in Worthing, West Sussex, the family-run wholesaler and distributor supplies a diverse customer base across South East England covering the hospitality, catering, education, and care sectors.

The company’s comprehensive product portfolio spans a broad range of fresh, chilled, frozen, and ambient products, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, dairy, bakery goods, beverages, cooking ingredients, cleaning supplies, packaging, and disposable foodservice products.

The move sees Adams Foodservice join Sterling Supergroup during the co-operative’s 60th anniversary year, and further extends Sterling's network of independent wholesalers across the UK and Ireland, according to a press release from the group.

Renowned for its commitment to quality, reliability, and customer service, Sterling Supergroup said Adams Foodservice has built a “strong reputation” around next-day delivery, flexible service, and long-term customer relationships, alongside continued investment in efficiency logistics and modern distribution capabilities.

Commenting on the decision to join Sterling Supergroup, Suleyman Ali, director of Adams Foodservice, said the company has always believed in building lasting relationships hand-in-hand with supplying great products.

“As a family-run business, we've built our reputation on trust, reliability, and treating our customers, suppliers, and employees like part of the family,” Ali explained.

“That’s why joining Sterling Supergroup feels like such a natural fit. Their commitment to supporting independent businesses and fostering a strong family culture mirrors our own values.

“We’re excited to become part of the Sterling family, combining our shared experience, passion, and commitment to exceptional service as we continue to grow together.”

For the fresh produce sector, the appointment further reinforces Sterling Supergroup’s presence within foodservice industry, with Adams supplying fresh fruit and vegetables alongside a comprehensive multi-temperature product range to customers throughout the region.

Welcoming the new member, Daniel Larkin, chief commercial officer of Sterling Supergroup, described Adams Foodservice as “exactly” the type of business that adds value to its membership.

“They’ve built a strong reputation in their region, have a clear focus on customer service and continue to invest in their future growth,” Larkin commented.

“It’s great to welcome them to Sterling and we are looking forward to working with the team as they make the most of the opportunities available through the group.”

Adams Foodservice is Sterling Supergroup's seventh new member to join in 2026.

This latest acquisition reflects the buying group’s continued growth and ongoing appeal to independent wholesalers who seek greater buying power, commercial support and collaboration, while retaining their independence.
