UK Adjusts Import Inspection Frequency for Selected EU Horticultural Imports

The UK Plant Health Risk Group has announced that import inspection checks on certain EU-sourced horticultural produce will now be set at 10%.

This adjustment follows the group’s recent review of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and aubergines intended for commercial indoor edible crop production.

Effective immediately, importers of these plants can expect a 10% inspection rate upon arrival in the UK.

The measure aims to maintain robust plant health standards while reflecting the current levels of identified risk.

Officials have confirmed that this new frequency will remain under continuous evaluation. Any updates will be informed by ongoing surveillance and inspection findings.
