Retailers, caterers and foodservice businesses are being urged to strengthen demand for British produce through their purchasing decisions, menus and promotions as British Food Fortnight marks its 25th anniversary.

Running from 26 September to 11 October 2026, the Love British Food campaign is calling for stronger relationships across the domestic supply chain as farmers and food businesses face continued cost pressures and difficult trading conditions.

Founder Alexia Robinson said: “British Food Fortnight has always been about turning support for British food into action.”

She highlighted sourcing decisions and promotional activity as practical ways to increase demand for British produce, with the campaign seeking to encourage support that continues beyond the fortnight.

Partners include Morrisons, Compass Group, Red Tractor, Brakes, Fresh Direct and The New Forest Fruits Co. Brakes and Fresh Direct are supporting the campaign through promotions and stories showcasing suppliers.

Activities across the country include tastings, farm visits, cookery sessions and seasonal menus. Thousands of schools are participating, while hospitals, hospitality businesses and community groups are also celebrating British food.

The campaign includes the Champion of Change competition, run with Morrisons, recognising individuals, groups and organisations helping people connect with British food. Examples include community growing projects, food education and initiatives improving access to fresh, seasonal produce.

Nominations must be no longer than 500 words and close at midnight on Sunday 11 October 2026.

Businesses can find campaign resources and information on taking part at lovebritishfood.co.uk.
